Dushanbe, Central Republican Stadium will be the host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup (AFC) Qualifiers Match Between Afghanistan VS Mongolia ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 12.  Due to the fact that the Afghanistan national team does not have the opportunity to host international matches, The Afghanistan Football Federation has chosen Dushanbe as the place of home matches in the qualifying stage of the 2026 World Cup.  In the first round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the national team of Afghanistan will play against the Mongolian team. The first meeting will be held on October 12 at the Dushanbe Central Stadium and will start at 19:00. Tajikistan will host Afghanistan's national team home games.



After officials of Afghanistan Football Federation negotiated with the officials of Tajikistan Football Federation, Tajikistan accepted to host Afghanistan national team's home games in Qatar 2022 world cup qualifiers and China CAFA 2023 games.
The competitions kick off on September 5, 2019 and will end on June 13, 2020.
Afghanistan is groupmate with Bangladesh, Oman and India in E group.
