A Career Break For Ismail Hares

Ismail Hares Talks to Afghan Football News about his football career.
He talks about the quality of NPL, the transition from 20s football to senior and so on.

 Ismail Hares:
" My last two seasons in the NPL were 2017 & 2019. I have taken a break this year due to certain circumstances, I believe the league has improved over the years I have played and started to help players transition from NPL to A-league.

The league is underrated and a lot of youth think it’s easy to play first grade but it requires plenty of skill. I think the transition from 20s football to first grade is a big jump and will cause a lot of players to drop leagues to get first grade experience. After spending half a season with the first grade of mount druitt town rangers and getting first grade game time and experience I believe it is a great league for the youth to play and develop their skills to move into the A-league or overseas.

There is plenty of experienced players who play in the league who have played at a professional level & you learn plenty from them. I learnt how to understand the game , what pace to play at and how to maximise chances of scoring.

You also learn life lessons  Such as respecting elders , being responsible and mature, as you have the whole club looking at you when you play. After my first game against Wollongong Wolves I learnt plenty aspects of the game such as moving the ball into the correct spaces, moving the ball face and transitioning to defence and attack quick.
The club looked after me really well & always helped me grow as a player and person.

My team mates Toufic Alameddine who I was closest to kept me motivated , pushed me every session and improved me as a player & person in several areas.
My u20s coach Stewart Montgomery believed in me and gave me confidence to play the style I wanted to, which helped the team win and brought success.

Overall I enjoyed playing for Mount Druitt & was happy playing football.

My 10 months in spain was the most difficult time in my life. Moving to a foreign country and not understand the language made it even more difficult.
I trained everyday overseas whether it was by myself , my friends or with
My team. I found it really difficult breaking into the team and starting games. Training with the team taught me a lot & improved me as a footballer. But at times I wanted to give up and come back home.
When you are overseas you learn to appreciate family friends and even the small things like being able to drive around your area and go to places you used to. But I’m always thankful for the opportunity to go overseas as it matured me a lot.
I will return to football next year and train for the best outcomes. I’m 22 next year and still know my time for a professional contact can come at any time as long as I put my head down and work hard.
Football is a crazy sport you never know what opportunities arise at whatever time."
